Johnson Controls’ Rodger Reiswig named to NFPA Standards Council and Research Foundation Board of Trustees

MILWAUKEE – (Jan. 16, 2018) – Johnson Controls’ Director of Industry Relations for Global Fire Detection Products Rodger Reiswig has been named to two leadership positions within the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). In January, he began a three-year term with the NFPA Standards Council. As part of this highly selective 13-member council, Reiswig helps oversee the development of codes and standards, administer rules and regulations, and support the appeals process.
This January also marked the start of Reiswig’s three-year term with the NFPA Fire Protection Research Foundation Board of Trustees. The independent foundation conducts research for the NFPA and the entire fire protection industry. As a trustee, Reiswig oversees budgets and hiring, while helping to select new projects for the foundation.
In June 2018, Reiswig will assume presidency of the Automatic Fire Alarm Association (AFFA), of which he is currently vice president. As president, he will lead the promotion of training, property inspections, testing, code compliance and the correct application of technology. Reiswig will also guide the AFAA in developing regulations and ordinances that help improve the quality, reliability and value of fire and life-safety systems.
“The appointment of Rodger to organizations so important to the fire protection industry demonstrates his commitment to fire safety and the high esteem in which he is held by his peers,” said Andrew Blate, Vice President of Global Fire Detection Products at Johnson Controls. “Rodger brings more than 11 years of experience to his new roles and will provide the leadership to help establish, update and administer fire protection and prevention safeguards that benefit us all.”
